Altamonte Springs

Altamonte Springs Florida is located in Seminole county and is in the northern suburbs of the Orlando area. The city’s unique name originated from a Spanish word “Altamonte” meaning “high hill”. Altamonte Springs has a population of around 40,000, 18,821 households, and 10,012 families residing in the city. Of these central Florida residents, a census report indicates a diverse racial makeup consisting of: 79.23% White, 9.72% African American, 0.33% Native American, 2.94% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 4.79% from other races, and 2.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 15.93% of the population. Now, I looked up all of these stats years ago, so I’m sure some things have changed a bit by now, but you get the idea. One thing that hasn’t changed is the traffic. Oh my. I think Altamonte has some of the worst traffic in the Orlando area, seriously. It is especially bad at I-4 and 436, near the Altamonte Mall. Doesn’t seem to matter how many lanes they add, its just bad all the time. For more, insight get in touch with our experienced Altamonte Springs Florida criminal defense lawyers today.

Types of Crimes Seen in Altamonte Springs

The city of Altamonte Springs is located approximately twelve miles from downtown Orlando. Altamonte Springs plays host to many cool, free events. First off, the city’s independence day fireworks are top notch, rivaling any 4th of July display put on by much bigger cities. But, parking at this event (at Crane’s Roost) is a nightmare, so good luck (maybe Uber there?). Secondly, Altamonte Springs plays host to a free monthly jazz concert during the summer months, each artist a top smooth jazz act (typically sponsored by the local jazz station, WLOQ). These free events are hosted at Crane’s Roost Park and are definitely worth checking out.

Although this suburb located outside of Orlando is considered safe, there is criminal activity present, as crime has no boundaries. Theft, DUI’s (Driving under the influence), domestic assault, resisting arrest, drug possession and probation violations represent most of the criminal offenses. The police department is located at 175 Newburyport Ave, Altamonte Springs, Florida.
